Counterpoint uses modern IT solutions to manage its team and deliver reporting requirements on KPI’s. The file servers are based around the Microsoft Windows platform, and the data is stored on a Microsoft SQL Server.
The PDA fleet is running an application developed in-house using Microsoft Visual Studio. This software is used to capture the in-field data, photographs and orders by our merchandisers. A second-generation system, it was rolled out in 2004 and has been evolving and improving ever since.
Our merchandisers transmit data at regular intervals using the data network of the mobile phone network. The results are delivered live to our clients using a web front end, which has sophisticated security and criteria selection functions. Clients can view results in real-time using a web browser anywhere in the world. There are raw data exports and custom formats for those clients with requirements to integrate with existing back-end systems.
